In a major push towards Abu Dhabi's vision of digital transformation and to boost business morale, an array of initiatives were launched on Saturday.

The Department of Government Support, represented by the Abu Dhabi Digital Authority (ADDA), introduced new digital solutions to support community, entrepreneurs and streamline government work as the Stay Home campaign continues in the country.

'Abu Dhabi Connect', a first-of-its-kind initiative in the region, is a project under the umbrella of TAMM, which is one-shop portal for all Abu Dhabi Government services.

The project aims to enable government entities to digitally exchange documents of individuals and companies by transforming these paper documents into digital data. Accordingly more than 50 hard-copy documents will be converted into digital data for use across 24 government entities. This simplifies procedures of more than 500 government services that provide more than five million transactions annually.

According to ADDA, the project will save more than Dh714 million and 7 million hours for customers, 737,000 working hours for government entities, and around 31 million archived documents annually.

Popular digitalised documents include medical insurance files, property verification certificate, tawtheeq tenancy contract, driving licence, water and electricity bill, passport, vehicle ownership, commercial licence etc.

Ali Rashid Al Ketbi, Member of Abu Dhabi Executive Council and Chairman of the Department of Government Support in Abu Dhabi, said: "Abu Dhabi Connect project represents an important step for the Abu Dhabi Digital Authority in leading the digital future of the Abu Dhabi Government and reflects the integrated and concerted government efforts to create smart, efficient, fast and proactive digital solutions."

'Instant licence' in just 4 minutes

TAMM on Saturday announced 'instant licence', which takes just four minutes to obtain. TAMM noted an individual looking for an economic licence can find all the services needed to start own business through its portal www.tamm.abudhabi. An individual can learn about permit requirements as per trade activities.

Also from Saturday, all economic licensing services of the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED) will be offered through TAMM portal.

ADDED, thus, became the first government entity in the emirate to transfer all its services to TAMM, i.e., a complete package of 83 licensing services are offered through unified government service system. The services include 31 for industrial activities, 25 for permits and advertising and 27 for commercial.

"The digital services launched will further enhance ease of doing business and investing in Abu Dhabi," Abu Dhabi Government said.
